Default My helmet

Does anyone out ther know of somewhere where I can get my helmet x-rayed, or otherwise checked over for internal damge??

Reason being I had a spill a couple of weeks ago whlist in my Arai Asrto-R. However, after VERY carefullychecking removing all remavable components, polishing, checking again and refitting everything I can't find a single bruise, graze mark or anything else on it from the accident. I know the rules about not using any helmet after an accident, but I would have thought that had I actually made contact with the road or car with my lid I would have seen some kind of damage, no matter how small. I haven't used it since, but really could do with not having to chuck it if I can get away with it so was wondering if there is any way of getting the integrity of it checked. (To be honest I would rather like the insyurance money to be put to a new bike!)

Any advice?

Take it to any bike shop that is an Arai dealer. They will advise you.

I took my Shoei to one of the BSB rounds for a service and asked them to check it over after it had dropped of my bike seat

Told by them that there was no obvious damage, however.....they advised I purchase a new helmet as, "damage can be unseen and may be critical".

I couldn't find anywhere else to get the helmet checked out and was advised by all the local Shoei dealers to take it for a service. You can find a list of where Shoei will be doing this on their website so I would imagine that Arai must do something similar.

Good Luck
Richard

X-Ray won't help as the important but which is "unseen" is the polystyrene, which X-Rays won't pick up on.

Equally taking it apart won't help.

Essentially there is no way of knowing, & it's a gamble.

Bear in mind you're gambling with you head, & it's a big risk to take.

Christmas soon, could you ask for a new lid from Santa?
