Just had my bike serviced, got it back and rode it yesterday and today and it seems to be making a constant tishing sound when the throttle is on and only when its in gear and moving. Last time it made a sound like this the radiator had blown and pee'd water out.
Any idea's? Ta Gary |

Could be the chain if they lubed it during the service - When I had my tyres changed, the guy doing it chucked a load of engine oil on there to lube it and it made a shhhing noise until I cleaned it off and put my regular stuff on.

Cheers, I thought that but it only seems to be when the throttle is on, if i dip the clutch and free roll its doesn't make the noise

Firstly, hello everybody
![]() Secondly, I've got the same noise; does it when both the throttle is on and the clutch is engaged. Thought it may be air being sucked in but then why doesn't it make a noise when just the clutch is pulled in. Hmmm |

Have you got a pointy?
Fuel injectors could be it. If noises like this bother you then wear earplugs, if the noise can't be heard through earplugs then it's probably not worth worrying about. |

Its a SV650S k2 so its a curvy. The noise doesn't really bother me just saw that someone else had the same noise while is was looking for what may be causeing the squeek and the click that is coming from the front. I don't think it's the forks. I don't know what noises the bike is and isn't supposed to make and there's loads of them. Well it's dues its 15K service soon so guess that'll sort them out...hopefully
Girth - what bike have you got? |

Try checking that your back wheel is in line! If it's out of track you will get excessive chain noise!
Oh and welcome to the forum girth and BristolMatt ![]() |

Thanks for the welcome Billy. I'm sure the back wheel is in line as just had new chain and sprockets put on by JHS. Also noise isn't there if moving with clutch pulled in.

I'm glad you've raised this as I have the same noise when I'm accelerating. when I'm on the overrun it seems to stop.
I've always thought it was the chain which I feel is a "Little" slack. Everything else on the bike is spot on (wheel alignment / carbs balanced etc) and the noise comes from the chain area. I haven't changed the chain tension but I am pretty sure the noise (which doesn't really bother me) with either alter or disappear when the tension is adjusted. Its the sort of noise you'd associate with the chain. |
