I liked the old one The exhaust's quite nice though. Less plasticky than the Fazer and GSR at least. But the front end's funny looking. It's a new engine isn't it? Least, it doesn't seem to have the lethal coolant hose thing on the rhs that always smashes my knee the first time i climb onto a Hornet...

It does seem to be following the style trend for nekkids - though I'm not entirely convinced yet that is a good thing.

The mirrors always look like they've been tacked on as an afterthought - which they probably have been.

It does look like it's got a bit more 'edge' to it that the old one - I guess it's a thumbs up from me.

Very nice sweeping of the exhaust downpipes which on viewing causes my mind to drift back to my days of the 400-4 which really did have lovely pipework. Mine did not stay that way too long following a rather speedy encounter with a lamp post late one night!

im not sure, im in 2 minds.

i think they should have continued with the old hornet, and then released say a hornet sport or something that looks like the above.

I wonder if this current turn of exhaust styling is in any way an attempt by manufacturers to curb the usual 'first mod' many commit to a bike - changing the end can.

i doubt it, as most companys produce aftermarket cans for most bikes with strange exhausts, there just more expensive.

strange aint it, what is with the trend of giving new bikes strange cans nowdays ?

i much prefer the old ones,

I quite like it, from this view anyway. The other side will probably show a large collector box that houses the huge cat and primary silencer, not sure that will look quite so good. The header pipes would have to take this route to make room for it and allow a shorter back end. Euro 3 compliace is making zorsts increasingly hard t get the look right. Not a bad job Honda. Suzuki got it right as well with the gixer 600/750. I think Kawasaki showed how to get it completely wrong with its new GTR1400 with its massive ugly broom. Suzuki did a slightly better job by going the twin muffler setup for the new gixer thou which doesn't look as bad in the flesh.
