Default Looking for a new chain

To the wise members of the org, a question.

My chain is looking in decidedly bad shape (don't ask), so I'm looking to replace it.

However, the problem is that I know more about platting fog than I do bike chains. Could someone point me to exactly what I'm looking for (SV650S-K6 stock bike pretty much).

I'm also looking at getting front/rear sprocket at the same time, because they're so cheap that I might as well. Why not eh?

So far, my endeavors have found this, but that's all. Comparison or other places to look would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

In my experience I have found it to be a false economy to scrimp on chains. Get the best you can afford.

I wend for a Tsubaki X-ring chain, Renthal steel front sprocket and a Supersprox Stealth rear. Got the chain and front sprocket from B&C Express. Google Supersprox. They are the same price everywhere.

I have had a chain snap on me and it wasn't a nice experience.

Thanks Scoobs, it's a good start for looking.

I see B&C have a wide range of Tsubaki X-rings. How would I see which one I needed?

Really not wanting a chain snap on me (I can imagine how bad it could be potentially), and spending on it is the last of my worries, I'd rather get quality, and I understand the principal that you get what you pay for.

I bought a DID X- ring for mine from Hein-Gericke think all together it cost me round £100 ish that was with the front and rear sprockets included, then went down to a local garage and they fitted it all for £30.

Click here and scroll down to SV650.

You can also call B&C if you want to change gearing (sprocket size) and they will advise.

Amen, and standard sprockets are cheap as chips. Better ones not that much more!

Cheers again Scoobs for all your pointers

Just ordered from B&C. Renthal Sprockets (Hard Ano rear) and Tsubaki X Ring Gold. I was originally looking at the kit, but figured I didn't need as much top end, so I've taken the rear sprocket up 2 teeth.

Faster off the line me thinks (she was pretty easy to wheelie before ) Filipe what have you talked me into?

Scoobs, me thinks you're owed a beer on the AR, remind me will you?
