Morning.
Sidestand switches are a problem on all bikes it seems. I had a TL1000 try the same trick on me once, and damn it hurt! Lube the beggar regularly and they stay ok, but you can't really rely on them eh! Cheers. |

I've not had this problem before, but hopefully my habits will save me.
I've developed the habit of putting the side-stand down THEN (if I need to) put the bike in neutral. This has the result that, so long as the switch works, it cuts the engine when I put the side stand down. Also, it's going to be bleeding obvious when the switch fails. If I'm parking on a hill or a vulnerable place etc, I'll leave it in gear & pop it into neutral just before putting my gloves on, when I'm ready to set off again. Mind, this habit has only started in the last few days. |
