Squared Off - MOT?
Is a squared off tyre an automatic MOT fail?
I am assuming it is as it could effcet handling quote: "Tyres will be checked for tread depth and condition as well as sidewall condition." Can anyone give a definitive. Cheers |

As long as they have the correct tread depth, as in not below minimum, then there shouldnt be any issue at all. All tyres square off, its a fact.

Perhaps I am a tad naive.
I would have thought a squared off tyre was reason enough to replace it, without even worrying about the MOT implication. TBH, I would not have thought a squared off tyre would fail an MOT as long as there remains the prerequisite amount of tread. Otherwise find yourself some nice twisties and re-profile your tyres

A squared off tyre is not great , however I for one can't afford to change a tyre when its squared off , I change mine when their down to the wear bars ( and this comes far too soon)
