Yeah, what he said after you get the pull the hadlight connector out, you remove the rubber dust cover, the bulbs are held in by clips.

ahhh that makes sense-ish. i've taken them out before and they've always had clips. I didn't realise the rubber bit had to be taken off. How is it held on?
cheers

The rubber thing is stretched over it. I just pulled mine by the straps and it snapped off.

On a similar note, I'm trying to replace the headlight, not the actual bulb but the metal ring and the glass but cannot seem to locate it on ebay for a naked sv650 2000 though found plenty for other years. Have been looking for a few weeks. Are these pieces rare? Retail it's a bit expensive >.<

brilliant thanks. I think they're just vulnerable and tend to break first in crashes!

right... its only a 5 min job but you neeed litttle hands!
i said i'd post the difference of the halfords 50% brighter bulbs. so here it is..

its difficult to gauge at the mo how much brighter it is when its light. but

left light bright one right light standard

both bright

it does seem brighter - but i won't really be able to tell until i ride at night. Pointies lights are pretty good anyway i think, especially coming from a naked with really **** lights
