Question Longer gear rod linkage woes

I've replaced the pegs on my K3S with Buell ones as I didn't fit the bike very well with me having supermodel legs. I am however finding it difficult to find a slightly longer gear linkage rod to suit. I have searched and no-one seems to have had to change the rod or even mentions it? Maybe I have odd feet (used to be flat footed as a kid) but I really need help guys as I have a track day soon (never gonna deck the pegs as I'm a bit of a wimp) and want to be comfortable. I have enquired about getting one made and they all want 30 or 35 quid to make one out of stainless which I certainly don't want in case I come off and it bends more than should really in an off.

Anyone else got a longer rod? Where'd you get it?

Thanking you kindly in advance.

Find a Woodcraft dealer and buy the shift rod supplied with the up-and-back rearsets?

Only one dealer in UK and they sent all theirs back along with their rearsets! Can't believe it's so bloody hard to find one!

Have you checked on Ebay? How much longer does it need to be? You should be able to get one or get a seller to make one up cheaper that you have posted. Just get a couple if worried about crashing on your track day.

Get dimensions ie diameter of rod, length of rod you need, length of threaded part and thread sizes and post them up.

Any rearsets with relocated pegs ought to do it, Gilles, Vortex, Harris, whoever. Might be worth a wee PM to SV650Racer, see what they have?

Sorted! Got a CBR600F rod today. 15mm longer and £3.65! Genuine Honda part. If anyone needs one part number is 90065MBWD20.

I did the same mod with the pegs, I took the hero blobs off 'cos they look long and nasty as if they would dig in. In reality, I will never get near them but it makes me feel better to know they are not there!

Did you try the linkage rod from the NAked. (Think it cost a bit more than your Honda one, though less than a fiver)

I changed the hangers and the linkage rod (plus a few other bits) on my K3S to those from the Naked in order to lower the pegs slightly. In fact the kit I removed from the S is now on ebay if anyone is interested, along with some of my other stuff now I have PX'd the SV.

No but I rang Colin Collins and explained the problem and they couldn't give a hoot. As I haven't got a nekkid I couldn't measure one.
