I had a good look at the new Matris cartridge kits for the SV the other day, even though they are a 'drop-in' kit they are basically 25mm cartridges.
The valve has a double shim stack for compression and rebound and it plugs in the top of the damper rod with a wiper seal that runs on the inside of the stanchion, there is no modifications required to the damper rod. The kit comes complete with oil and springs and also replacement fork caps, all cnc machined and anodised black and gold. Std fork caps can be used with a short spacer so they are eligable for Minitwins. Now the downside is they are £400 retail, so not cheap but better than emulators and not as dear as other cartridge conversions |

Yes it's dear, but it's a top quality mod - and the best bit is it's easily done, no changing front ends etc.

Why are they so much more than racetec emulators?

Would they work on pre 2002 models?

As for the earlier models I need to have a measure up as I think the id of the stanchions are different and the id of the damper rod would need enlarging |
