Default how to dismantle forks?

i need to dismantle a pair of sv forks for a chappie on here who just wants the bottom legs, how do i split the sanction from the for leg?
is it just the big nut on the top or is the spring under tension in the leg?
how do you do it? i need to get this done asap.

On the curvey theres a allen key headed bolt in the bottom of each fork leg. You'll need to undo that so you can seperate the fork legs.

Undo it before you take off the cap at the top of the fork. As its easier to do it with some tension on the spring.

helps even more if you loosen the bolt when the forks are still on the bike with some weight on the handle bars compressing the forks

Having sturggled with one of the damper rod bolts (the one at the bottom) today, this is good advice.

You'll have to slide up the fork seal dust cover and gently prise out the spring clip that holds in the oil seal and you can then use the stanchion as a slide puller and withdraw the seal.

Watch out for those fling springs as well they will take your eye out if your not careful!
