Hi All,
I'm on a course in Bath all next week (Kingsmead Square http://www.verhoef-training.co.uk). I've had a look at the banes web site, but they give conflicting info about where I can and can't park (and for how long). Does anyone here know the city, and can advise me? Ta Muchly. |

Luckily for you (especially when you consider what a swine it is to park there in a car), you can park in pretty much any of the bays in Bath in a bike. Be sure to check before leaving it in a residents only bay or anything like that, but in most residential areas, you'll be able to park fine. I must of parked up at least 50 times (in various locations around the city) and never had a problem. Prof might be able to give you more specifics.

There is one small parking area specifically for bikes in the very
centre, near the abbey. No payment or time limit there but it gets a bit crowded (maybe not this time of year). Apart from that there are free parking spaces for cars along Henrietta Street (not to be confused with residents' parking spaces!) and usually one can find a space along this street or along the parallel one (don't remember the name). It is perfectly OK to park a bike in one of theses spaces but there may be a 2 hour limit. In any case, if you move a bit out from the centre you can easily find a parking space and walk back to the centre. Overall, parking a bike in Bath is not too much of a problem. |

The one that i always used was fairly central and has never been so busy that i cant get my bike into the parking bay. If you follow the link below it will show you a map pointing to the Hobgoblin pub.
http://www.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&c...i=lmd&z=14&t=m the Hobgoblin looks like this: ![]() If you look on the map the road that picture was taken from was westgate buildings. If you were standing where the photographer is there is the bike bay on the left hand side of the road. perfect if you are coming from the bristol side of bath. still quite a good spot anyway in my opinion. If you do get lost look for the park and ride buses as they stop about 20 yards past the bike bay, so you can follow one of them. Paul |
