Rossendale Bike Show cancelled....again!!

Read in the local paper last week that the largest town centre bike show in Europe is to be cancelled yet again. This time due to a lack of volunteers.
Shame, as it's only a mile down the road from me
After 14 events they cancelled it last year due to ASDA relocating. They say they might try again in 2009

thats a shame.... its a massive bike show and gets at least 2000 bikes on the ride in too... i believ ethe ride in makes like 10k in charity alone.

asda eh..... you know sommet... not only do they ruin the economy and local shops but they ruin the charity event too.. has some one approached them and asked them to donate something for the inconvenience?

It wasn't so much ASDA spoiling it as they're relocation to another part of Rawtenstall and the organisers of the show couldn't sort out who owned the old site to get permission to use it.
ASDA have always provided a lot of support to the bike show. Personally I think that it's Tesco that is ruining local economies. I mean, we have 2 large Tesco stores within 1 mile of each other in Rawtenstall and Haslingden. Now that's just ridiculous. Someone must have taken a back-hander on the planning committee to allow that.
