Default RECALL - Oxford HotGrips

Hi there,

I posted on SVRider about this way back when the ORG was down. I have just recently bought a set and have yet to fit them. Apparently (according to the latest RiDE mag) Oxford are looking to recall all HotGrips (NOT HotHands as far as I'm aware) purchased since September 2005. The fault apparently can cause the grips to "not work properly" and is not a safety issue. No heat, no fire at a guess.

I'll be giving them a phone to check if they need inspecting or exchanged. Will post of any useful info after I've called them.

Garry

Cheers for the info.

My Oxford H/grips stopped working intermittently last week (the coldest few days its been all winter!). Done the usual checks , could not find the problem, although I suspect its the switch. Worked bloody fine today. Booked into be properly inspected on friday.

Not a happy chappy, had to dig out some proper winter gloves. My hands might as well have been hooves! Bye-bye throttle control (very little in 1st place, on and off innit! ), and bye-bye feelin' the clutch. The horror......................

Balls. I've just ordered a set... they were reduced to £35. Maybe that's why?

Oh I really hope mine don't break...

Damn

my old ones used to intermittantly fail to work from time to time

I trashed the bike before getting them seen to however

I did buy some new ones this Jan, so I hope they don't suffer from the same thing
