Default Saltaire Shop Goes

My brother just told me that the shop that used to be BMF or Carnell in saltaire is closed and is now some kind of car tyre place.

Its like the end of an era. I bought my first bike there and had my last tyre put on there.

not true !!!!!!!!!, there being refitted, i think theyve moved to the back part of the building next to the workshops, i had a set of tyres put on by them last week !!!!!!,

im pretty sure that the car tyre business is them as well, theyre in the process of pulling all the bike stuff back into the unit behind the shop front.

stop press......

ive just called them and theyre deffinately still in business just moved within the same building as i thought.........

Phew.. I was a little concerned cos they are the best place for parts and tyres around here. Reasonable price without the risk of using some back yard hippi.

I shall slap my bro!

To be honest, they looked closed, as I drove past, and the garish red on yellow signs made it look a little "only here to rob you of your dosh, before we go elsewhere"...

I shall stand corrected though. If you are looking elsewhere, I believe theres a place up the A64 out of leeds that does tyres and parts etc. Can't remember the name of it though, but its between a garden shop and a stone masons. Never been there, but spotted a couple of bikes outside on a saturday.

i think you mean Steve Siddons, Leeds tyre services, there out in scholes off the A64 map here

http://www.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&q...i=lmd&z=14&t=m

i usually go here but during the winter they arent open saturday mornings so it was awkward, i got a really good deal on my pilot roads from bfm in baildon, good service too.

No, the one I'm thinking of is right on the A64, I searched on maps for "Hayes Garden Centre", "Leeds". Google shows some building with a red roof, follow the road to the left a bit, its the grey thing that looks like an L.

Its something along the lines of Woosters (or Joosters, etc) Bike Spares.

Also, BFM are not in Baildon, the address in the Yellow Pages is in Baildon, but thats just either an office, or registered whatsit They're down in Saltaire, next to the firestation, but I think you already know that

I know the place you mean. It's been there for donkeys years and it's just past the garden centre. Reasonably priced and good service too. Just a bit far for me to go nowadays....
