Default Tyre sizes

I'm looking at getting a pair of Michellin Pilot Road 2's at the weekend, was wondering if anyone knew what the standard sizes are for a pointy SV?

Thanks

I've just checked the service manual Gavin sent to me and it said Front 120/60/17 and Rear 160/60/17... does this sound about right??

Also does anybody know a good place to order the tires from? Mail orders fine as I will get em fitted when the bikes serviced soon.

Thanks

Yes, the sizes are 120/60ZR17 and 160/60ZR17.

I phoned up SMD Tyres for mail order. There's a thread here somewhere when others have mail ordered. Blackcircles website springs to mind.

Cheers, SMD are the cheapest so far at £179 mail order delivered, tried blackcircles but they couldn't match it. Any other places anyone can recommend??

I can’t stress this enough … MICHELINS are horrible tyres. Granted I haven’t tried the Pilot Road 2s, but the Race 2s are horrible - naff all grip unless baking, they break away with no notice ... horrible confidence killing tyres .... My mate has some road Michelins and he hates them too!!!

After being on my @ss several times with no warning due to these tyres, I will NEVER EVER buy Michelins again!!!

Please Please don’t tell me you have already bought these Michelins and I am too late??

I haven't parted with any pound notes yet dude, although all i've heard is good things about these new tyres so your views are interesting, thanks.

What tyres would you recommed? I do a 40 miles commmute each day but love to get out round the twisty roads at the weekend? I know asking for the best for both is too much but i need something that will last a fair while and give me the confidence to bank it over a bit more...? help!

Sorry, no use on recommendation - but lets put it this way .. I am running a remould on the rear at the mo … so its not like I have fancy tastes or want much from a tyre … but I know what I hate and I hate Michelins!! … yes I am happier running a remould than a Michelin - that doesn't say much for Michelins!!

I have only had it on just over a week, but the Koncorde remould is pretty good actually – wet or dry

Cheers, for the advice guys.

When i rung a shop the guy said that I shouldn't run different brand tyres front and rear, dunno if this is just to get more money out of me however... I got a resonably good condition BT020 (i think) on the rear, can I get a front to match and will it be any good?

Matched pairs are advisable, but not essential.

I have an 020 on the front at the mo... its a good tyre, especially for this time of year you could do far worse
