Yep I've done that to. Went to fast into a corner and knew that I wasnt going to get round it, I saw that there was an open gateway into a farmers field that looked flat and was grassy so I picked the bike up and ran straight on into the field, got myself stoppped, turned around and then carried on my way again.
I did a similar thing on a different road where there was a grass / muddy verge on the edge of a corner, which I rode around like a berm on a motorcross track as I ran out of tarmac. That got caused by a bump on the previous corner that I went over a bit to fast for the SV's suspension to cope with and it unsettled the bike and I went off line and I didnt have enough time to get my line right for the next corner. Both times 5 minutes later I had to stop and sit down and contemplate the world for a few minutes as I scared the cr*p out of myself.

I had a moment earlier today, lost the front wheel, just took a sharp corner on a motorway too fast on new tyres, hit some gravel on the side just next to the central barrier, luckily I got out of it took the next exit and had a little walk after to calm down before getting back on the motorway.

Just go for a rideout with the good Doctor Rich and you'll do a spot of off road riding. OK, they might be classed as roads but only just. On the gixer it gets very interesting

Don't worry, I'm sure Kwak wiped it all off straight away.
