Its recomended that you replace the sprockets with the chain, as worn sprockets will wear your new chain quicker.

Replace chain and sprockets together. Worn sprockets will shag a chain more quickly. Buy the best you can afford. This is not an area to scrimp on. I've had a chain break on me. Not a nice experience.

Best gat the whole shebang. Your new chain will wear faster on your old sprockets, a "false economy".
You can tell that your sprockets are REALLY shagged out as the teeth will be hooked (to the right) as oppossed to new ones' teeth being pointy-straight-up. ![]() Alloy Renthal sprockets look trick and are lighter. Worth 10bhp when you are lookin' at your bike ![]() OE (suzuki parts) are expensive compared to AFAM, DID,REGINA etc. chain and sprocket kits, so you may want to look into getting them instead (mailorder). Suppossed differences in wear/life is bolloxz. (If using standard steel sprockets) ![]() |

Renthal ones do look good but will wear faster than a steel sprocket (even the hardcote ones). I got a Supersprox stealth sprocket on my bike. Aluminium carrier with steel teeth. Click the link below:

shagged sprockets look like all the teeth (or the vast proportion) are hook-shaped, not a nice homogenous triangle shape. Also, they will be flatter ontop.
Get shiny nwe sprockets to go with your shiny new chain! Matt |

There is nothing harder than the OEM front sprocket, 99% of times its this that wears quickly and damages the chain. If you can, get a Suzuki front sprocket. Other than that, all chains do the job. its all about lube and adjustment.
Echoed again, chain AND sporckets all the time |

I've changed sprockets on a good chain, but I wouldn't put a good chain on significantly worn sprockets- sprockets are cheap after all, chains less so.
