Default top gear suggestion

had this discussion in the work van on a long journey to newcastle upon tyne.

Top gear-
the test track,

if they froze it and made it all ice

and then sent a wrld class speed skater around it.

do you think he/she could skate round in quicker time than the fastest car?

Hmmm, well they couldn't really freeze it - but they could go out for a jolly to Siberia or somewhere and make the track out on the ice there.

They seem to like bimbling off to various parts of the globe with little reason so you've never know, they may take you up on this idea!

No.

In fact I don't think that they could skate round quicker than the slowest car.

they did this in the "top gear winter olypics", well, around a speed skating course of some sort. I don't remember who won though

I reckon a speed skater would stand a chance around a short, tight course - something like a go-kart course maybe. the TG test track is waaay too long & has too much straight for a skater to stand a chance, a rally-type car with some studded tyres would walk it

I think they should get one of those high powered petrol radio controlled cars and race that round the track.
