Default 150mph +

Ok so we've talked about changing front sprockets from 15 to 14 teeth and rear sprockets up in teeth for better acceleration so......

Is it possible to get 150mph + out of an sv650 by putting a smaller sprocket on the rear? How many teeth do you rekon?

if droping to a 14 loses 10mph putting a 16 on the front should raise 10mph lower the back 2-3 & in theory ...........maybe?

possibly be able to make 150 by changing the sprockets....BUT pulling away from standstill wouldnt be very nice. you would have to give it a lot more revs to get going, and wont be know where near as quick as a standard sv. just get a thou. much easier

In theory, you can calculate it, but in practice it will be different. You lose a lot of speed caused by the wind and when your engine isn't strong enough you can propably not make it.

calculations:
a: topspeed with stock sprockets
b: topspeed with 2 teeth more (for example)
c: # teeth stock
d: # teeth stock + 2

b = a*d/c

example: a= 140MPH, c= 42 (don't know how many it has), d= 44 => b= 146MPH

theres no chance you'll make it. It'll run out of steam, remember the power isn't made at the top of the rev range, so you'd need to hae 150mph at about 9000rpm. Its not going to happen!

You might make it, but you might have to go one up on the front & 2 down on the back (same effect as 2 up on the front).

However, if you do hit 150mph, think yourself bloody lucky you didn't run out of road first. It'll take years!
