Default Dealership in the Durham/Tyne & Wear area?

Was looking to grab a couple of test rides on some 600s if I could this summer, but I don't know of any dealerships in the area...and can't find a great many large ones on the net (if any).

I'm originally from the South-West so Bridge used to be my local stop on a weekend. Anyone able to point me to any big/well-recognised/popular dealers within a 30 mile radius of Durham please?

Cheers in advance

Newcastle has a few on Westgate road, but the hoops you have to jump through to get a test ride is somtimes fun full price of bike are a percentage plus you will have to to take you Licence and insurance saying you are allowed to ride the bike fully comp,
Have only managed it once at Kens on Westgate road a few years back just showed my licence and away i went, now Kens is owened by M&S on the other side of the street who made me go through all of the above who knows, Couple of bike dealears around Nevels Cross,You might want to try Tom Conway around their also let me test a couple, he is in Langley Moor have bought one off him before.

are you sure kens is owned by m&s? i bought my bike from kens in september and they seemed in competition with m&s. But yeah, head to westgate road- its where all the dealers are!

Wow, cheers for the list Richie I'll have a peek at a couple of them.

Yeah, I'd found out about Westgate road on the net and seen that there were a lot there, but from what I could tell they seemed a bit.....small? Might be completely wrong but from some photos I saw they looked independent/a bit rundown and not the sort of places that would let me hop on like a bigger dealership might. Then again, maybe it works the other way round.

Westgate would be the bike 'Mecca' of a weekend then would it? I can only really equate to Bridge from personal experience. Better go check this weekend.

And as it happens itsablueone, I use North East m/c @ Neville's cross for my servicing, like the mechanic there and it's about 2 minutes from my house. The guy who runs it even offered to lend me his waterproofs for a few days when I went to pick it up and the heaven's opened while I was paying

Westgate road has some big dealerships, even if they look small on the pictures. It's worth having a wander up there just to look around. Then there's Kawasaki Newcastle on Scotswood next door to AutoSounds, they're a good bunch of lads in there and it's a good size dealership too.

Richie has supplied a few addresses in Darlington, but other than White Bros the rest are, well, erm if you want a test ride on a Scooter, or a "B" reg with about 45 thou on the clock then forget it. Miller's had has MOT rating taken away for allegedly testing bikes "while under the influence", or something like that at least that was the rumour, and I've never even heard of "Paint my ride".

Whites always have some beatiful bikes in but are renowened for being the most expensive, any biker in Darlo will tell you that they go elsewhere, most usually have a ride through to Tilstons in Stockton.
