Just put a deposit down on an RR3 954 'blade - 03 plate with 8000 miles.
Picking her up on Thursday and can't wait ![]() Any Blade riders on here that have any info/advice??? I'll be using it every day as only vehicle; short commutes, after-work travels to gym etc, weekend blats and the odd euro trip. I'll post pics next weekend ![]() ![]() But for now - cards behind the bar so drinks on this bank holiday are on me ![]() |

Which colour (red, blue or yellow) ? May I ask how much you paid ? 1) Lose the standard can, it's a bolt on anyway so it's easy to do 2) Get a seat cowl, they look much better 3) Decent double bubble is useful The seat is a bit hard but you get used to it. Just remember to feed the power in, rather than "snap" the throttle back, or you'll end up with the front wheel in the air all the time. Talking of which, if you are a bit over entusiastic with your right hand, they do tend to shake their head. Lovely bike, I normally get bored with a bike after 12 months, had this one almost 2 years and can't honestly find anything I'd prefer to have as it's a great sports bike, I tour on it, have commuted on it and have had on the track.... Lovely Jubbly ![]() The CBR forum is a bit too quiet for me.... Edit: Just because I can, here's mine . Last edited by Jelster; 07-05-07 at 08:15 PM. Reason: Arrogance :o) |

Gone for the black/red colour scheme - I take it thats the same as yours Jelster??
Well - the bike was in the shop for £4900. However they gave me £4100 part-ex on my Triumph Tiger so an £800 changeover price. Taking into account the saving i'll make on not servicing the Tiger, selling panniers/topbox etc etc it'll only be a few hundred quid - abargain in my eyes ![]() I had absolutely no intention of buying a new bike, so was risky entering the shop in the first place ![]() ![]() I've got my eye on a few bits on fleabay as we speak - what can have you got on yours Jelster?? And exactly how frisky is the front end?! |

Yep, mine is the red/black colour scheme (the best imho) and the blue was awful.
Cans... Well excluding the original, I have 3 others ![]() I have a "BOS" which I picked up from "K" on here. Does the job, legal sounds better but too quiet for me. I also have a "stubby" which sounds the mutts, but replacing it for the MOT I managed to break a stud in it and need to remove it. I hope to have this back on for the North/South meet. My favourite though is my Akrapovic, which is awesome, if not quite as loud as the stubby. Front end: Don't get me wrong, it's planted, well and truly, but if you accelerate very hard and it gets light, it just has a tendency to not stay in the middle. First time I noticed this was a day out with some IAM guys and I was "trying to keep up" ! I kept getting little head shakes, not violent, it just a bit more than a vibration. So I pulled up to check everything was OK and was told by one of the group that if I kept the front wheel on the ground "perhaps it may not happen ![]() So I'm just careful to feed in the power rather than snap the throttle back like you can on an SV650. On the straight and moving it's fine, just be a little more gentle when coming out of roundabouts etc in 2nd. It does about 80 in first, 119 in 2nd and 130 in 3rd ![]() ![]() Oh, and I went in to buy a VFR, saw this in the showroom and and bought it without even thinking about it... It's a great bike, you've made a wise choice, just don't make it look better than mine ![]() . |

I'll be keeping the standard can on for now - I'm off to Le Mans on May 17th so will just be investing in luggage before then. Noticed that yours has a Baglux cover on it - do you just use that as a cover or do you have a tank bag for it?? Having never been to Europe before, not sure how much luggage i'm gonna need??? was thinking of perhaps tank bag & tail pack?? I'm watching some baglux stuff on ebay now - will any of their tank bags fit the tank cover do you know??
Just looked at your urbanbiker site - I used to have a Falco also! Sold that about 18 monts ago, and had a hankering for another sports bike since then. ![]() ![]() |

Le Mans.... I wish I could join you but the Mrs booked our annual vacation for the middle of May... Stupid woman
![]() Touring: I generally use a small Baglux tank bag and a tail pack. Lemans is only a couple of days so I get away without expanding the pack to full height, which means I just use the bungees on the base, and don't bother with extra ones over the top. Le Mans is a good destination to get used to the bike actually, as it'll be a mix of motorways, fast A roads and some twisty stuff (if you know where to look). When I got my 'Blade I had it 2 weeks, of which I was working away, went on holiday with the family, came back for 2 weeks (again not really able to use the bike) and then went down to the Alps. Not really the best place to "bond" with a new bike, some of those passes are pretty scary ![]() . |
