Default Passing Police Cars

Purely a theoretical question.

Your riding along a country road (B road, wide with two lanes say) at probably an irresponsible speed (of say around 90+).

All of a sudden you round a long sweeping bend and pass a Police car thats clearly a traffic volvo going in the opposite direction, its plain to see your exceding the speed limit slightly, you then look in your mirror and they have applied brakes harsly as if to turn around.

You dissapear around the next corner.....Would you

A) Keep going at the speed you were doing if/when safe to do so knowing damn well that the police stand very little chance of keeping up.

B) Slow down to the speed limit, wait for them to catch you up, pull you over then try and claim you wernt speeding.

C) Keep going at the speed for 1 mile and duck into a side road and stop for 5 - 10 minutes.

D) Pin the throttle open.

But I've been told recently I have a problem with authority

Really depends on the road and situation.

If the Volvo were able to turn quickly then I reckon he'd ultimately catch you up. If you didn't bin it first.

Turning off? Possibly, but he may well see you and follow you anyway.

I'd moderate my speed, and if stopped, try and say it was only his impression I was travelling too fast and I was riding safely and considerately, but spiritedly.

Whenever I see a Police car going the other way I just keep going with a watchful eye on my rear views.

C

Has actually happened to me at that speed before but on an A road on my way home from school on my 125. I put my head down for a few miles, past my house, and ended up in the countryside

I have to admit to actually doing D. Only not in the circumstances presented.

Once, I was in my car, a beasty 998cc Metro City back when I was at college. Cop car was a panda & he definately put the flashy bits on when he saw me. I was past him, voted for D (I was pretty much already at D when I passed him), then C. Also did the classic scumbag trick of no lights (who was it that posted about idiotic youth antics in another thread). It worked too

I shant talk about the times on the SV....

I've done Baph's D before now and gotten away with it. I turned off down a maze of lanes as soon as I could and dropped down to legalish speeds.
