2003 Model 650S
Hello everybody, newbie to the forum here!
I live in Ireland and i want my next bike to be a pointy SV650S but it has to be Factory Restricted or else the insurance on it will cost several times more than the bike itself! There isnt much choice over here so im looking for one in the UK to see if i have any luck. I've been searching MCN, autotrader and the likes and there are tonnes of SV's i would buy in a flash if they were F Restricted but none of them say so  can anyone please tell me if there is a way to know whether theyre restricted or not?or better yet, is anyone selling one ?  appreciate any help you can give me, thanks! |

You just swap the ECU over to restrict a pointy...so you just need to get a restricted ECU separately, and can look at any of the bikes you've already seen.

Ok, thanks, i have to check with the insurance companies they are very picky about what they define as factory restricted

You can get a garage to re-fit the ECU and give you a certificate of installation, I think - sounds like what they want.
