I have Pirelli Diablo's on my SV, but I'm in need of a new rear tyre (it's goosed - see here.
What I want to know is, do I go for a Diablo or a Diablo Strada? At the moment, I'm doing a lot of miles (1300 in the last 3 weeks) and I want something which will last, but give me good grip as my SV is used mainly as a Grin Machine (I like corners) and I'm going to the TT in 2 weeks. I need to know ASAP as I'm ordering whichever tyre i decide on tomorrow. |

The strada is the sport touring version of the diablo i believe. So id go for the strada, or a Metz Z6 (essentialy the same rubber)

So I should get more miles out of the Diablo Strada with no loss of grip (noticable to me anyway) than with the Diablo? It's slightly cheaper too

If the diablo strada is anything like the MEZ6 which it seems to impersonate (or is that the other way round?) then it'll be a bloody good tyre.

I have never ridden on a diablo, so cant comment on the difference in grip to a strada. However i have a strada on the rear of my bike, and its seems to grip enough for me

I've Diablo Corsa III's on my GSXR and if I'm being honest I can't tell the difference between them and the Metzler Z6's on my SV. ![]()

Never used a Strada, but it's fundamentally the same tyre as the Metzeler Roadtec, which is ace... Should do you at least twice as long, and they're surprisingly grippy. I took mine to a trackday and it took an awful lot of provoking before I, eh, crashed. But that's just silly, for road use they're ace. Better in the wet than many sticky tyres too.

I've used bith std diablos & strada's on my sv650 .
Std diablo rear lasted 6k ( which I thought was good ) , Rear diablo strada has 4.5 k on & is about half done , hoping to get 8-9k Rear grip both not a problem , has scraped pegs with both with no problems , because I do the mileage use the strada's no loss in usable grip on the sv Cheers Steve
