Thanks Tim, I've been meaning to ask them myself !
I've been watching a few on ebay recently and they go for silly money, always about £60 + £10-15 postage, then you have to buy the fitting kit for your bike, another £15, which adds up to nearly £90 second hand, so 10% discount including fitting kit makes them cheaper new ! ![]() So if I buy a new one I can use it and sell it for a profit ![]() |

Ta for the discount info, I might be in the market for one of these very shortly (rear shock will need replacing soon).
Just a quick question. I'm not interested in having the front and back in the air at the same time, but would be able to have the front forks up for fork oil changes etc. (plus my front paddock stand is a piece of junk). Can I just use the basic superbike stand fitted 180 degrees round to lift the front, leaving the back on the floor? I've seen the front lift and the yoke front lift, but if they're just to get it up in the air at the same time, I can live without them. Even if I can lift the front up using the basic stand, would that be high up enough to drop the forks out? Thanks in advance, Ceri. |

You don't need to do anything back to front.Just lift the bike as normal on the Abba stand, then jack under the engine or get a mate to push down on the rear seat. The bike will pivot on the stand and then put a block of wood under the sump to hold it there. The front wheel will be about four inches off the ground, enough to remove the wheel and then drop the forks.

Hey all
I have looked at the Abba site and I can get the stand and fitting kit for £94.95 less the 10% forum discount. I have also looked at the NWS site as couple of searches said they are a better stand, I can get that one for £99.00 don't know if there is a fitting kit and don't know if we get a forum discount. so my question is, is it really worth it to get the NWS one or am I just wasting money and the Abba stand will do the same job just as well. Thanks everyone DoubleD |

Kinda. The SV needs a shouldered collar that fits into the r/h swing arm pivot, to space the stand out far enough to avoid it fouling on the rear brake lever. You shouldn't be charged extra for this.
Unlike the Abba stand where you need a different fitting kits for different bikes, the NWS stand will fit straight on for most bikes. |

Well after much urmming and arring I have gone for the Abba as it has a fitting kit made for the sv rather than a 'fit all' adapter on the NWS and I got 10% off at Abba.
£85 and some pence to my door, sweet. |
