Talking Letting someone else ride your bike

Let my two house-mates have a go on my bike this evening. Was the first time I've ever heard it without riding it....

Sounded so good! Exhaust is offensive though! I can't believe how much it echoes off the houses, I could hear it so far away!

I let my brother ride mine the other day.

Worse than that he came back and said it lacked torque and the handlebars vibrated!!

I was out once on a ride with a mate of mine. I had the YZF750 at the time. He said that following me was just like following a proper race bike.

I mentioned that I had actually never heard my bike giving it some without actually being sat on it with helmet on. So he said that he would do a ride by down the dual carriage way.

We pulled into the lay-by and off he went on my bike. Round the roundabout and then gave it beans as he passed me. He was in 4th gear and bouncing off the rev limiter. Damn it sounded so cool as he went up the gears and shot past.

He came back and we went our own ways home. I then realised that a serious lack of power was going on. Piston rings had blown in one cylinder.

Ended up getting all of them changed just in case.

Bummer! I lent mine to a friend who's just passed his test and a friend who's only driven motocross bikes (albeit pretty well!) so gunning it was an issue, not dropping it was! Wish I had my camera out!

I've never done the whole 'give us a go' thing with any mates - I don't mind the idea of anyone riding my bike, it's the thought of dropping a bike that I've borrowed that scares me!

I mean, what the hell would you say if you did drop it?

I always tell me mates before they ride my bike......"You bend it, you mend it".

I let one person ride my SV once - but then he's a lawyer and could damn well afford to fix it.

But before that - never - as for since, well, no way no how is anyone getting the keys/alarm fob for the BlueBlade from me unless they prise them from my cold, dead hands.

Just so you know like.
