Default Quick One - Spark Plugs

Just doing a service on my sk1. I have become stuck on the front spark plug. Losened the rad bolts. But can't work out how to get it out of the way. Tried downloading one of the manuals. But sv650.org seems to be running very slow.

If anyone could give me some advice or a link to a download or instructions. That would be grand.

Cheers

G

You can hinge the rad forward. You have a faired one, so you need to loosen off the bolts holding the two fairing sides in place as they have studs that locate via rubber grommets into the side of the rad. Undo the horn mount and let it dangle,or support it if you wish and remove the bolt that fastenings the rad to the right hand side of the front cylinder. Pull the rad forward, it'll be stiff cos of the resistance caused by the water pipe and wedge in a suitable piece of wood to keep it forward whilst extracting the plug.

In order to replace the front spark plug you have to take off the the horn and then loosen all the bolts for the radiator. With the tool that came with the bike you then canget access to the spark plug. It is a real pain in the ass but you can do it. If you are located in New York city be more than happy to help.
