Default Adrenalin junkie …

I was just talking to a collegue at work who is into modelling (the Airfix kit variety, not the clothes off - front of an art class jobbie ) reading books on WWII and collecting Dr Who memorabilia …

I do actually find WWII stuff fascinating and like to watch the odd documentary on telly about it and I used to make Airfix as a boy … so can see the fascination with both (Dr Who is just sad ) …

Anyway it is quite evident this guy is hardly a risk taker … for example, he always has a brolly … everything on his desk is placed ‘just-so’ … everything happens at exactly the same time every day …

How is his life 'fun' or the slightest bit 'exciting'?

Why is his attitude to risk so fundamentally different to mine?!

Why the concern? MAybe he's living his lfe the way he wants to? Or maybe he's got his own mistakes to make before he realises what he should be doing in life? Or maybe in the evenings he's a cross dressing, horse injecting, techno-dancing, high toned sonofab1tch!

Just a thought! ;o)

Interesting, because I have been questioning myself and thinking that maybe I shouldnt be enjoying the adrenaline!

But then 24hours later, I realise that without it I would be a grumpy boring cow, so I shall have accept who I am and go enjoy myself!

You could always turn to the joys of latch hook or crochet... My little sister - who is to my mind allergic to adrenalin - makes some lovely little decorative rugs...

Live and Let Live.
Provided he is happy and not hurting anyone, I do not see the problem.
I don't understand computer geeks myself.

There is something to be said for a quiet life. I mean, I can sit for hours doing nothing that clipping the odd leaf or two from one of my Bonsai trees...
... most of my concentration is on the tree and the rest of the world just beggers off for a while.

Now that's not what you'd call an adrenalin rush of a hobby - it's not like the trees are about to attack me or something. But it is a great de-stress for the mind - and every now and then you get a great feeling of achievement with a job well done. (I would say 'completed', but it never is as the things keep on growing. )

It's horses for courses really - at least he's 'doing' something. Making those models, completeting them to perfection, he must get a sense of satisfaction from that. He's a perfectionist...

... at least he's not some lazy-ar$ed couch potatoe who does nothing at all. Now that I can't understand.
