Some cheap bandit handlebars came up on ebay so I nabbed them to repair my bent sv ones. Here is my take on them FWIW.
I had looked up the dimensions before bidding and they were supposed to be slightly lower and more pulled back according to an American website that I found. They were advertised as "Bandit 600/1200" handlebars, and when they arrived, they seem to be about an inch higher than my K3 handlebars. They had the holes drilled in the right place already and the conversion went fine apart from I had to modify the bracket that holds the front brake line to the yoke, and pull a bit of it through as that was too short. The bike now feels like a supermoto around town with a noticeable raised riding position, but feels like a chopper with apehangers on A roads and motorways. All in all, they were cheap, and now I am back on the road, but they feel a bit strange. Possibly better around town but worse at high speeds. |
