Default Newbie...

Hello one and all.

My name's Johnathan (aka, Gnome). I'm 23, reside in the pleasant surroundings of very northern Oxfordshire, and am currently without a bike.

Well, I say without one, I was building my second project, but was getting fed up of the fact that delays beyond my control, mean that I was still without a bike on the road.

So, I took the decision to sell all the parts, and my brother has offered me his X-reg SV650 at a brother's price. Extortionate!!!

So, I should hopefully soon be the owner of a Yellow SV650S.
This time, I won't be stripping it apart, as tbh, I'm new to V-twins.

Been a secret closet V-twin fan, but apart form a teeny Intruder VL125 I owned about 6 years ago, I've not had a proper V-twin, or even ridden one for that matter.

Always been a fan of the SV though.
My bro's done a few little things to it. Lower fairing, seat cowl, undertray, indicators.

I plan to pretty much keep it that way, maybe with a few shiney parts added.

Only things that need sorting are the fork seals, and the tank is leaking slightly on the underside. Need to inspect it properly, to see if a Petseal job can be done, or whether it's a welding job, or even a new tank.

Any tips and tricks on the SV front always appreciated.
What are they like to work on?
I'm used to oldskool Suzuki oil burners ya see (Bandits, GSXR's).

So, in short. Hello!

Finally someone from Oxfordshire! I live in Oxford itself, but I work up north of the A34 near Upper Heyford. Where exactly are you based? Good luck with getting the bike ship-shape (bike-shape?), and gimme a call or PM if you want to go out riding or need any help. May I recommend a new can if you don't already have one!
