You don't work for us do you Alex? we are half Mowlem and half carillion those on carillion get paid expenses milaegage, wages etc by a call centre called Accenture and they are useless our HR manager is brilliant absolutely superb but the actual centre are terrible - those of us on Mowlem wages etc. have no problem whatsoever as it gets dealt with by a different office.

I really can sympathise Alex not much help i know

..no matter who you work for

Mileage:
My lot have introduced a new system which can't cope with more than one vehicle...... so last month they returned my bike mileage claim form (to my home, not to my office!) saying they had no record of the vehicle on their system despite my having claimed mileage and allowance for it since March 2004. I wouldn't mind but there was over 250 miles claimed on it.

I now have to send my bile mileage forms to a named person with a comp slip to remind her that I use two vehicles

Overtime:
They simply cannot cope with the fact that when I do overtime related to my day-job I get paid a different rate to when I do overtime during my one week in seven on the "official" on-call rota.

Every month I have to ring them to tell them they've fecked up. Again.

Job adverts:
It takes them up to 8 weeks to get a job advert in the local press, meaning that when someone leaves it can take up to 4 months to get a replacement.

Trouble is, if you ring them to complain then, in addition to the routine "incompetancy c0ck-ups", they deliberately feck-up some more

How come none of their c0ck-ups are ever to my advantage?

Same for us its a nightmare by the time someone hands their notice in a request to recruit goes into HR 8 weeks pass then we have to advertise and then interview after the interview we fill in a request to offer then HR sends the offer letter that can take them anything up to 8 weeks by which time the person may well have found another job

My lot made their first c0ck-up in my favour today. I got paid £7.43 'sick pay' this month. Seeing as I haven't been on the sick for several months and in any event, why would I be sick for less than an hour?!

Happened to me with an IT company...
Applied for loads of jobs in Jan/Feb/March (so many I can't remember when I sent one to this particular company)
But by The end of April, I'd heard about one of the jobs and took it to start end of May.

So then in the MIDDLE of May, I get an e-mail back asking to attend a competency test!
Very daft indeed...

Yup. I got my letter from the HR DEPT. With a suggested start date 3 days earlier. The date on the letter was 6 weeks old. It turned out the thing had sat on someones desk for over 5 weeks whilst they were on leave.

We still have not god rid of the "It's not my job" attitude
