I only ask this because I was not a happy bunny yesterday brand new set of tyres, not done 600miles (cos I missed the rideout) and there is a nail in them...
At the same time we noticed that Viper had a screw in his tyre and I just read in another thread that Bear did too.. So I was wondering is it just the age old rule of life that 'these things come in 3's' or did others get the same? Sudoxe: What was your tyre problem due to?

Doh! If you'd have got the Avons you'd have got it replaced for nowt!
"AVON’S ROAD HAZARD WARRANTY TO APPLY TO VIPER IN UK Cooper-Avon has confirmed that its Road Hazard Warranty will cover its new Viper Sport & Supersport tyres in the UK. The warranty, which is unique in the industry, provides a free replacement tyre in the event of a puncture or irreparable damage being sustained within the first millimetre of tread wear. Graham Matcham, Sales Manager for the motorcycle division commented,” All the customer has to do when he buys one of our new Viper Sport or Viper Supersport tyres is ensure that he gets a certificate of fitment completed. Then, if the customer does experience an accidental puncture or damage due to a road hazard, within the specified parameters of tread-wear, the completed certificate is handed over to any Avon stockist who will arrange a free replacement. We only ask the customer to pay his dealer for fitting and balancing of the new tyre. ” He continued,” British Standards BSAU159f advises against the repair of z-rated motorcycle tyres and the warranty offers peace of mind in the early life of a new tyre”. The warranty applies in the UK and Republic of Ireland and most Avon dealers hold stocks of the Road Hazard Warranty certificates. Supplies can be ordered by contacting Sue Dingley at Cooper-Avon Tyres Ltd. Bath Road, Melksham, Wiltshire SN12 8AA. Tel: 01225 357659 or e-mail eumarketing@coopertire.com" |
