SV650 Engine - Wet sump
Hi all,
I've been asked by a friend (non-rider but an amateur car racer) whether the SV650 engine (K6) is wet sump or dry sump. I told him that I think it is a wet sump but I am not exactly the mechanical type and very new to bike riding  so thought I will ask the experts.Thanks, |

It is a wet sump, dry sumps tend to turn up on exotica such as of the Aprilia RSV motors etc....

It is.
Usually nowadays wet sumps are only used to reduce engine size rather than any performance or drag benefit.

If an SV650 has a flat tyre in the forest and no-one is there to blow it up, how long will it be 'til someone posts that the reg/rec is duff and the world will end unless a CBR unit is fitted? A little bit of knowledge = a dangerous thing. "a deathless anthem of nuclear-strength romantic angst" |
