Proposed Scotand Tour 2007
The whole tour is based in staying in Youth Hostels where bedding is provided and showers available. the average price of a hostel is £12 per person per night,thereby eliminating the need to carry tents or bedding
Mon2/7-Chelmsford-A120-M11-A1-A68-Bellingham[Eng/Scot border]=300miles Tues3/7-Bellingham-A68-A720- A90 -A915-A917-St Andrews=145miles Wed4/7-StAndrews- A91-A919-A92-A96-Inverness =185miles Thurs5/7-Inverness-A9-A99-A836-A838-A894-A835-Ullapool =280miles Frid6/7-Ullapool-A835-A832-A890-A87-Fort William=195miles Sat7/7-FortWilliam-A82-A814-A85-A821-A81-A873-A84-Stirling =125miles Sun8/7-Stirling-M9-M80-A80-M74-A7-A595-A591-Windermere =175miles Mon 9/7 Windermere-A591-M6-A14-M11-A120-Chelmsford =300miles The total mileage is approx 1600miles with 7nights accom. I realise it is not possible for everybody to do the whole trip but hopefully it may suit for some to join in at parts The hardest day is 4/7 Inverness to Ullapool and this can be shortened by cutting across by Tain and Bonor Bridge from280miles to 120miles The other long days are primarily motorway or main routes getting from South/North and return This may seem a bit far in advance but it allows for anybody interested to book the necessary time off Nothing is set in stone and if it is required it can be moved to coincide with AR2007 EITHER ON THE WAY UP OR DOWN Just a basics at this stage to see if anybody would be interested[Sorry if the dates are out] |

looks like your dates/days are a day out... plus its the same weekend as the sv650.org anual rideout. so thats me out.

If I decide to make a week out of the ride over to Knockhill for the BSB then i'll be able to make it for Wed/Thu/Fri/Sat

Aye up Dicky old boy, saw your post and now I've decided to follow suit.
I'm going to use (hopefully) use AR07 (30/31st June) as the start point before moving North to explore the Scottish Highland coastline. I'll keep an eye out for your plans

Thanks for the warning, but I'm intending to go clockwise and then stay north of the Tay, coming back thru Dundee and Perth to visit relatives.

You can book from now using the Scottish Youth Hostel website and I guess you could even ring on the day for any vacancies.
