I was going to suggest a patch for the camera, but you've done that already.

Vista is notorious for having problems like you are experiencing, you could try running your machine through Microsoft Update and downloading any updates for vista and seeing if that fixes it.

Can you not remove the card and put it into a card reader. Most new PC's even laptops have card readers these days. Or get a card reader from a local Dixons/Currys/Comet/PCWorld etc.

When you say it "wont let me use USB sticks .. wont let me get my photos" .. what do you mean? Does it give an error or just doesnt recognise the devices?

I have heard some mixed reports of Vista. Few blokes at work use it and they said its fine, but others say its p00h0use.

Ill stick with XP Pro until a few patches / service packs come out for Vista. XP was the same when it came out .. a bucket of **** .. but service packs made it better

Install UbuntuStudio. OK, so you won't be running windows any more, but hey, that has to be an advantage not a problem!!

I've not played with Vista much, top of my list of people to bug about it would be SoulKiss.
