Default Anyone fancy climbing up Monument?

From Jambo's suggestion:

Despite the website saying it's already closed http://www.londontown.com/LondonInfo...Monument/2c17/
A quick phone call later, & it's not going to close 'til 29/7/07.

Closes at 17:00 so was thinking lunchtime £2 to climb 202 feet up over London?

How long do you get for lunch then Stu? getting there/ parking /queueing/ climbing it/ resting halfway up/ taking pics/ going back down/ kitting up/ back to work.... all in an hour. Wow, you got superman skills or what?

Only joshing. I'd love to go up it but i'd prefer to do it later in the day just before it closes kind of thing.

Do you have to book in advance, whats the deal here?

No book in advance, last admission 5pm. I work round the corner and oftentimes can be found in the Fine Line outside the monument with beer in hand. It would be quite nice to be a tourist for a change, instead of having to move out of the way for them...

Why not. Give me a day's notice and I'll bunk off work as well. And bring me camera. And Oscar (see www.wanderingoscar.blogspot.com)

weekend sounds even better but is it open weekends an wont it be rammed full of annoying tourists?

And Oscar look like a cool dude, how do you know him then Matt? And why dont you bring him to Soho one night and let him sit on some bikes. He looks like the kind of octopus i'd get on with what with me being an eight legged freak and he an eight legged squiggythingy.
