As long as you take regular stops to streach off now and again, you should have no problems, do all the basic checks and before you set off,
ie make sure to lub your chain, tyre pressures, coolant, oil level, amount of tread on your tyres.

ps Get a gell seat, your bum will love you for it.

Enjoy your trip.
Richie.
pps, take plenty of visor cleaner for the bugs...

No it's not. I have a K3 S model with a gel seat. I did 480 miles in one day and had planned 3 fuel stops. I ended up stopping about 6 times because it became so painful. The worst of the pain came from just below the knees. I even started hanging my legs on the pillion footrests. The further I went the harder it got to walk after getting off the bike it was so painful.

I must admit I am now the wong side of 40 so that doesn't help. I think my next bike will be a Triumph ST, a lot more comfortable.

Most I've done is 520 miles in a day (from Hull to Isle of Skye). Took 4 fuel stops of maybe 10 mins each - otherwise non-stop. Would agree that a gel seat is a good idea, but as it rained all the way I was too cold and wet to worry about a sore @rse !!!

Felt fine the next day, but then I am a finely honed athlete (not !!!).

The seating position is more upright and I believe the pegs are slightly lower so it will be a bit more comfortable, however you will get more wind blast.

K1 naked. I am kind of not looking forward to doing a 440 mile trip in France next month. I have found that 250 miles with regular stops creases my legs. I am getting new bars to get me into a more upright position. Would like 2 or 3 inches more distance to the pegs though. Done 5000+ miles on the bike since October and I cannot say that I am used to the position even now. I do find the seat quite comfortable though.

I ride a naked SV650(curvy/first gen) and did 700 miles plus round trip going to the Annual Event at ahem fast pace, stopping only to fill up. Found the seatt okay to be honest. The only change from standard was the Renthal bars(Ultralow) which is lower than the standard Bars.

For fast pace riding on the SV650, I tend to prefer the lower than standard Bars.

John, would the original be okay with the amount of extra rise you are looking for? I may be going to venhill to get some cables made up so if it looks like you may need longer cables, let us know and I'll PM you about the time I'm going up.

Spoke to them this morning and for the SV they need to rob a part off the original cables but I've got a couple or so cables that I can let them take bits off if you need cables made.
Main reason I'm getting them to make some cables is I need a choke cable and I don't like the design of the OE cable. Specifically the brittle plastic bit on junction box which tends to break easy.

EDIT: Trip was done without a screen but you can get screens(not the silly tiny flyscreens) that do a very good job if needed.

Ben,
I think that I will only need to get a longer front brake down hose(to splitter) made up. Looks like the rest of the cables can be rerouted to work with higher bars. Thanks for the offer though.
