Pete has picked one of these up today, and is impressed with it. You can set it to read in lbs or bars, it bleeps to let you know it's on the valve, and it also has a digital tyre tread depth gauge.................all for the huge sum of £3.99

I saw them today while I was picking up some cleaning stuff, didn't get one as I have a trusty tyre gauge attached to a compressor.

How accurate is it?

I don't know about this one but I gots me one from a previous Lidl sale. A model without thread depth gauge, but with flash light. I have checked it against the calibrated tyre gauge at my local tyre shop and it consistently indicates .1 bar too low. No variation. So I just keep that in mind when I check the pressure.

Halfords do a basic digital tyre pressure guage for a fiver. Accurate to +/- 1PSI. No tyre depth checker on it though.

I bought the Halfords digital tyre pressure gauge a while back, it's thin enough to navigate past discs etc..
However sometimes I find it a sod to get seated right on the valve and by the time I've finished faffing about I can tell to within 0.5psi that "yep, I've let a load out" ![]() That's probably more me than the gauge though.... ![]()

Obviously without proper test gear I don't really know. I checked a tyre when I got home and the Lidl gauge read 33.6 ibs and the Motrax digital read 34.5 ibs. About 3% difference. The Lidl one measures in tenths of ibs whereas the more expensive Motrax one only reads in increments of .5 ibs. The good thing is they both give consistent readings time after time. That is the important thing in my book. Find the pressures that suit you and the bike and then keep them in check with a consistent gauge. The Lidl one is well worth the £4 IMO.
