Default Hold my hands up time

You know that sinking feeling when you pull over to let that noisy Police car through....
And they pull over too
They were parked on embankment doing speeds and already had a customer when I passed them chasing a blade. 1.5 miles later when they caught up with me they had a go at me for my exhaust and number plate (which had fallen off & been replaced by a 6 x 1.5" piece of paper) (Spidey they did ask how long it had been on and tried to say it had been on a long time as it got dirty in the rain yesterday).
Anyway, I was lucky that they "didn't get the frickken Laser fixed on me", they let me off with the exhaust and gave me a £30 non endorseable penalty for the number plate (no rectification notice!)
Also asked where I got my Police Jacket from .

Well the £30 is the cost of a train ticket for 2 days in excess of 2 days petrol, not that I want a fine all the time, but rather that than have to change my exhaust. I think after they chased me for 1.5 miles there was no way they were going to let me off scot free so at least that was something that was not too painful. (Should've gone to Cadwell today instead)

 Oh well, like you said could have been worse Can understand them not being overly chuffed with a paper plate.

Thing is you don't strike me as the sort of person for whom a fine would make you any more or less likely to get the plate sorted (ie. you'd get it sorted asap anyway), so in an odd sort of way, the fine has done nothing to discourage

Did you tell them that you were selling them on for a profit, and another biker had been asked the same question after being pulled over (well, pretty much)?

Nice to know it's not only me that they thought was trying to impersonate a copper!

Unlucky about the fine, but it could of been worse.

How do you impersonate a Police Officer?...........Become a self important, patronising, not very bright and lacking any sense of humour sort of person?

Stu, I did wonder this morning, you were aggressively "making progress" when I saw you.

Thats the problem with half term weeks, less traffic = more chance to get pulled.

Why have you got a paper number plate anyway ??

Hehe, reminds me of the poll on the forum not long back about the various options we would take having passed a copper. I must say I've been tempted at times to keep 'making progress' before diving off down a side-turning somewhere. So the question is...why did you let them catch up with you?

You have much to learn yound padawan.

p.s. bummer bout the fine btw; still, could've been worse!

You see, i can come out with usefull info. Change it before EVERY ride is my advice. Not that i'm advising you to use a paper plate of course. )
