Recommend me some sites to place a House for Rent ad? Rentees (tenants), where do you tend to look?

When i was looking recently, then i used Rightmove, findaproperty and Prime location. But these where all agent managed properties. I found it difficult to find a site that was soley for private landlords.

Things like flat mate world and Spareroom.co.uk are around as well, also Gumtree. Could also try Loot

I would have loved to have dealt with a private landlord, but sometimes these things are easier through an agaent. The'll help you with the advertisment, sorting refrences, sorting out which sceme to put the deposit in etc etc.

Just make sure you are aware of the new deposit sceme.

We came to find that some agents are far far better than others. We went with the 'Recomended' agent for the area we where looking in, and they where pants, too busy, and frankly rude.

Dr... i know agents can sometimes seem like a waste of money and at times they definately are.
However they do filter the prospective tenants and put them thru credit checks etc.
if you do choose to do it privately i would advise you still do those things.
PM me if you need any advice, the G/F recently got promoted to Senior Lettings Consultant so she knows all the ins/outs.

Depending on the type you are ainimg for there is alway Loot (online and paper) and TNT or other "travelers" publications where you will find loads of auzzies/kiwis etc looking for places to rent.
