Question Poor Fuel Economy

Hi All.

After the partial engine rebuild, balancing the throttle bodies and then adjusting the TPS I am only getting 95 miles until the fuel light comes on. I used to get 120 miles regular as clockwork. Riding style did not seem to make a difference, always 120.

Any ideas why I am getting the poor mpg?

Would a remap of the ECU help? If so does anybody know where I get this done near to Portsmouth? How much should I expect to pay?

Thanks Tim.

Default Re: Poor Fuel Economy

Remap of the ECU is an option... Does the bike feel different i.e. are there are large flat spots?

Could be running rich/lean...

Remap at any big dealers/tuners would cost about £80.. They should stick it on a dyno for about 45 minutes and get the fueling ok.

First port of call I think!

Good luck... For peace of mind I get 90 miles with a Power Commander, but my ECU is well knackered!

Good luck!

No flat spots. If anything it's making more power low down and is a lot smoother, the throttle sync was way off.
