Accumen Cat 1 Alarm Removal

Hi all, I'm tearing my hair out now with this retched thing! I'm trying to remove my alarm from the SV. Nuts and bolts.... fine just electrickery isnt my strong point. Its all white mans magic to me! It was fitted professionaly by accumen and seems to be spliced here there and everywhere. It all worked pefectly so I know what they have done is correct, however I'm just not sure what is part of the original loom and what is theres? Where to unplug and re-connect? What to cut and blank off etc. Any help would be really appreciated and a crate of something may bin order if you live local .

Well I don't know much about pointies, but on the SV 2 circuits were cut and routed through the alarm, the ignition power wire and the starter relay trigger wire. The earth was spliced into as were the indicators.

If its cat 1 then all the alarm wires should be black, if I were you I'd just follow them round the bike and see where they go, if spliced then cut it off and tape over it (use the self amalgamating stuff)
if routed through the alarm then cut the alarm wires off and solder the cut back together and heatshrink over it.

I bet you don't hate electrics as much as I do at the moment.

indeed pro fitted alarms can have up to 7 circuits( normally three though) and if done right they will have cut out a section of wire on each so you may have to graphed in some wire to bridge the traced out circuits, make sure you solder all connections and heat shrink them as they may lead to problems later if not done right.

dependent on which alarm and how it's fitted , yes they do, having bypassed quite a few in my time (of course to help people with problematic alarm units honestly officer), some even pro fitted stuff is shockingly badly fitted, but others are routed in such a way as to take seroius effort to remove, some circuits are just voltage drop ones, so can connect to just about anything which requires voltage, others can be coil interupts as well as ECU feed or return.

Ahhh, that explains all the unused wires on my meta 357 (thats now in the bin!)

[As an aside is there any chance you could cast your eye over my thread "no spark" as I'm getting rather annoyed at mines funny antics.]

Indeed, although you do also get ansillary (sp?) circuits and other sensors and stuff as well.

Just got my Steak & chips in front of me, I'll have a look at your other thread after (prosuming it's in SV tuning ?)
