Goodridge brakelines- ready to be fitted - SV650.org

Yes, im no at the rideout, sorry but could not miss a monumental day of racing on tv, misano gp and touring cars live all day on setanta!

Fitting brakelines, anyone done it here? - don't want to fek it up! - anyone want to volunteer to help me! (all those with the right tools and garage apply here!)

I bought a pair of one way bleeding valves for doing mine (do both calipers at the same time) only cost a few quid, not had the chance to try them out yet... sold the SV before i fitted the Hel lines i bought for it

Use the same kinda thing for doing car's and it works well.

Have large Steel shed thingy (2 bikes live there) and plenty tools if you don't get a closer offer

I can do it, and I've got all the stuff here, but I'll be pretty busy for the next few weeks at least so it'd be a while before I could get to it... You'd be welcome to fire over once I get my feet clean though.

What bleeding kit do i need to do it myself then?
if i can do most other things myself i might as well give it a go and i'm sure i saw a tutorial on how to fit them somewhere!

I use the trusty Big Syringe method. I've got a Mityvac, which is the usual recommended tool, but I think the £3.99 syringe actually works better- you just push the fluid into the caliper from the bleed nipple. Because bubbles want to go up, it's easier to push them upwards to the reservoir than it is to push them downwards to the bleeder. I don't like being dependant on tools like that, but it works so well it'd be a shame not to.

Mityvac 34.99 - seen it and yeah thats the tool, bit steep for a one off and probable once a year check! but i suppose getting the brakelines fer nowt was a bonus, but would rather spend the dosh on ebc organic pads to go with the lines!

If you want a lend of a Mityvac you'd be welcome. But I reckon you'd be better with this:

Ridiculously expensive for a syringe and a bit of hose, but it's easier to just buy it for £6 than to spend time finding one for a quid. WOrks a charm, it's all I use now.

K3 Job c.v: Engine:remove/split/rebuild/refit. Replace:Gearbox,Fuel pump,Gaskets. Piston clean,rings. Overhaul:Throttle body,Injectors,Brakes,Forks.
