Is it Illegal to cut down a smallish tree.. (conifer, xmas tree) in your own back garden at 08:15am... as my nextdoor neighbour was asleep at said time, and I awoke him... as He said the tree knocked on his window as it fell......
the previouse day his radio alarm clock awoke me and my wife at 04:15 as his partner is on shifts... and the alarm stays on for 35 minutes... Now the tree I cut down was only 8 foot tall... and there's a 6 foot tall fence between us and them. My wife and I were there the whole time making sure the tree would be felled my side of the garden... My wife... a Strapping, big breasted... (had to get that in lol) 5 foot 10 inches of a lass managed to wressel this brute of a tree to the Ground with one hand... all 8 foot of it away from the fence with out damage... some 10 feet away from my house, and about 13 feet away from the "Samehead next door neighbours house", Never mind the window that he said it brushed passed... ie the upstairs bedroom window.. So my question is this... Am I allowed to cut down my 8 foot high xmas tree at 08:45 in the morning in my own back garden ? or should I wait it 03:00 am, with a can of petrol, pour it onto said tree.. light it on fire, and have a Fire extinguisher on hand just in case. Then chop down the tree with a Petrol chain saw and make lots of ghoulish noises wearing a baseball catchers mask, to do the same job.... ![]() the later sounds so much more fun.. i'll go for option #2 next time..

Reminds me of the sh1thead behind me who complained of the noise from my circular saw at 7.30am saying it had woke him up. (I wanted to start work at 6 but the wife would not let me) I was working in my garage and the noise he was making shouting obscenities made me stop and go outside to hear what he was saying.
My reply to his abuse was "Well you are awake now so I cannot wake you again. Good morning". T055er. Then again he was the individual who throw all his garden waste over the fence into my garden. Despite him building a fence claimed 4 ft of my lawn belonged to him. Asked a surveyor to validate his claim and was told his fence was 2ft on my property and ever since has tried to make life difficult.

Have I ever told you of my old friend and colleague Marlon who heard the voices. Last I knew of him, he had moved to a nice padded room at Broadmoor. Serious, it was those voices that told him to do it.

The noise laws are to stop you making loud noises out side of 7:30 am and 10:30pm, though it might be polite to wait till a bit later. Say 9 am, i imagine i would be ****ed if I got woken on a Sunday if I was having a lay in (not that it happens with a 2 year old anymore). I'd get even more ****ed when I was working shifts.
