Default Insurance confusion

As some of you are aware i had an accident last week.

I called Bennetts today to see how the claim was progressing. I was told that they are just the broker and I would need to call the underwriter, Equity Redstar to get an update. This is the 1st time I have ever been told this by them. Had some claim with hem before and they dealt wit every aspect of the claim. Secondly, when I got the hire bike I had to sign a credit agreement which was concerning but they assured me that they seek money from the at fault party for all costs. Thirdly, the people who provided me with the hire bike now tell me they are getting my bike repaired! When I called the underwriter they sounded very concerned as to why the hire bike company are getting involved with repairing my bike. Of course when I call Bennetts they just tell me to call the underwriter as they know nothing, also Bennetts have not yet informed my underwriter of any acident. WTF is going on?

I'm afraid you're another name to the list of folk who now think Bennetts=B*llocks

Don't expect anything in the way of a fast resolve. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news.

If past experience is anything to go by I should be fine. I've been with Bennetts for 5 yers and had 4 claims, not once a problem. Just a bit odd how the hire bike people want in on the action as well. Damn insurance companies!
