Default Recomend me a bath mat(Yes seriously)

Now, i HATE showers over baths, but sadly its all we have in our rented house. I have a tendancy to fall out of them (Stop laughing at the back) This as you can imagine can be effin dangerous. I slipped yesterday and hurt my side as i hit the bath. Now, i bought a bath mat but that slid all over the place. So what can i do to stop the bath being so slippery bearing in mind its not our bath.

Ask the landlord to do something about it.

An unusually serious reply from moi...

Put plug in bath and then run about 1/2" of water and add to that a good amount of bleach. The bleach will raise any bacteria which are often a cause for the bath to be very slippy. Remove plug and rinse bleach away thoroughly and then give underside of mat a good clean to ensure the pads get a good purchase when replaced in the bath. HTH.

Viney mate, i sell baths that have anti slip treatments fitted to their base but A) they aint cheap & B) It involves taking out your current bath and replacing it.

Those mats are usualy OK when they grip the base but it sounds like your one aint for some reason.

But i agree with Ed, your landlord has the responsibility for your safety in the property to a great degree. No he's not supposed to some round and make sure you aint sticking a fork into the plug sockets but he has to try and remedy this for you in his way.

If the lady of the house has been using the usual greasy ungents in her bath, getting anything to stick to it will be difficult.

Mrs.3 day week + time in lieu.

Practical experience I am afraid. I don my marigolds to perform the cleaning duties of 2 full bathrooms including Billy Bidets every week.
