Gap Insurance

Wasn't sure where to post this one.....

Right I have a new SV and this insurance so if its gets nicked, crashed ect then its meant to pay out the full price of the bike.

What i want to know is that I'm going to when I got money, put a nice end can on the bike which isn't a suzuki part it mentions as a clause that if the motorcycle is modifed other than in ocrdance than with manfactures specs it won't pay out.

Buy an end isn't a perforance part, neither does it make different its still an end can.

So with this insurance and a nice can will it pay out. Has anyone had experince with this at all? Either good or bad? Thanks

Generally this kind of clause is in there to point out that they won't pay out for your extra undeclared bling if you stuff the bike up, and may refuse to pay at all if you changed it enough that the original risk rating is incorrect. They could argue if it got nicked that the can made it more desirable, but the bike wouldn't be there anymore and I'd think it's unlikely. The best thing is to phone up the underwriters and talk to them direct.

Thanks dude, that is what I'll do tomorrow, just wanted to see if anyone had any experince with it as well, and wheter they paid out etc.
