Default a48 - m4

Anyone get caught in the traffic yesterday - jesus! I sat still for 1 1/2 hours

Quote:
ONE of Wales’ busiest stretches of roads could be closed for up to a week following an accident, police said last night.
The westbound carriageway of the A48 Eastern Avenue, which links Junction 29 of the M4 with the centre of Cardiff, brings thousands of commuters streaming into the capital from Newport and beyond every morning.
But a major stretch of it will remain closed today – and “probably” for another week – after a lorry carrying a crane crashed into a bridge over the dual-carriageway.
The move will doubtless bring commuter misery to one of the nation’s most important routes as traffic gets diverted onto alternative routes.
A spokesman for South Wales Police last night said, “A lorry travelling westbound on the A48 carrying a crane was involved in a collision with the bridge which carries Penylan Road over the A48 carriageway at around 3.36pm. No-one was injured
