well your oil may be running around with bits of metal in it, i'd get that out sooner rather than later.

its a possible purchace than my own bike - just dont fancy buying a bike that may have problems due to the 1st owners neglect.
My local honda dealer have said the warently was invalid (but they were trying to make a sale out of me at the time) so i dunno how true that bit would be? |

wouldn't bother me about buying it i'd just change the oil straight away the filter could stay but the oil would have to be done.

Well the oil is going to want changing as kwak says, bit of metal in the oil, also the first service is supposed to be a thorough check over the bike to make sure all the bolts etc etc are tight and nothings worked loose.
Are the Honda dealer willing to include the missed first service as part of the deal ? If it were me I'd make sure they did, otherwise they could keep their bike. Rememeber its a buyers market at this time of year so shop around you might find an equally good deal on a bike that hasnt missed its first service, If its that important to you, then walk away IMHO.

Its a private sale - I just phoned the local dealer to the seller and tried my luck at getting the info from them.
Im gona try and barter a bit more, it was an ebay sale and I know that bartering is not allowed, but, the auction did not disclose the missing 1st service, and claimed full history... god I miss my trusty SV!! |

Technically you have a correct full history, as there is none, would also get a HPI done if it is so much cheaper, would not want to get it re-possessed straight away!

Would also advise a HPI check.
I'd say get it and change the oil and the filter, the oil will be full of bits and the filter will probably be past its best because of these, not like they're expensive anyway. The one thing to worry about is if its missed the service then has it been run in carefully? I do reckon that engines need to be revved when running in but if hes ragged it then it could cause problems. What bike is it?
