Default Spoked wheel rot-How much will pass MOT?

My bloody tranny (transalp that is) has some rear wheel rot. Can't find one for love nor money, well money I can but the wrong amount! Silly money.

The rot is near the spokes but they can't be moved. The spokes are rusty but straight and none are broken or bent. Is it worth me tidying up the rot with chemical metal and putting it in for the MOT?

Any help appreciated.

Monkeyman.

Morning all.

As Hovis says this sort of thing is entirely dependent on the tester, & his or her opinion as to what constitutes 'excessive' corrosion.

As an ex tester, & well aware of the problems of electrolytic corrosion on Jap alloy rims, I used to be pretty hard in such cases.
Any attempt to hide it with chemical metal or similar would also result in a fail, & wire brushing it may make it look a lot worse, resulting in a fail for sure.

Leave it alone, & say a quick prayer, & cross your fingers I reckon.

Cheers.

Morning all.

I've seen a LOT worse. I'd take it for an MOT & see what happens.

Cheers.

Will do chaps. Can't believe I haven't already. It's only 30 notes. At least I'll know where I stand with any other stuff too.

Thanks people. I'll post the result on here.
